Köstritzer Schwarzbier

Köstritzer brewery was founded in 1548 in the town Bad Köstritz, Thuringia. The fame is acquired through the production of Köstritzer Schwarzbier which is one of the first dark beer produced in Germany. German dark beer with over than 465-year history is known by its unique color and sparkling character. It was high valued even in times of Goethe and Bismarck, and today it is the most popular dark beer in Germany. Köstritzer Schwarzbier has deep black color with soft cream foam and light burnt aroma. Flavor combines fine coffee shade, slightly nutty and chocolate, a little cream. The finish is again with burnt note but with addition of a silky sweetness.
